Need a way to make your wardrobe work harder? Let me introduce you to your new saviour: The knee high boot!

The humble knee-high is a great addition to every woman’s wardrobe and can instantly elevate any look. This shoe has gone from standard staple in previous years to statement- making more recently. If you’re looking to invest in an all year round staple (I promise you’ll be wearing them for years to come) then stay away from trend-led styles and instead opt for a forever pair to wear season after season.

For inspiration and outfit ideas, I’ve compiled this guide on how to wear knee high boots to create an effortlessly stylish look:

1. Wear with a Floaty Midi Dress

Your midi skirt is possibly by far the most underused item in your wardrobe. Instead of wearing your skirt with thick tights and ankle boots (which can look too blocky), throw on a pair of lined knee high boots and elevate your outfit in seconds!

3.Wear with a Utility Jumpsuit

The utility jumpsuit is one of the most versatile pieces you can own. You can layer a vest and ribbed top underneath for extra warmth and dress it up or down using a wide range of footwear from strappy sandals to trainers and ankle boots. Knee high boots are no exception! Wear your jumpsuit with knee high boots on a chilly or rainy day for added practicality.

4. Wear with a Longline Blazer

If you are constantly wearing your knee high boots over your skinny jeans, an easy way to elevate this look is to wear a blazer instead of a cardigan. The structure of the blazer will enhance the look of your outfit, elevating it from casual to smart casual in seconds. You can swap the blazer for a structured winter coat on those colder days.

Wear with a Knit Dress

The knit dress, with all its allure and easy elegance, has become something of a staple in my wardrobe. Its year-round wearability and day-to-night versatility give it universal appeal. Paired with your go-to trainers and a leather jacket, it will instantly enhance your daytime look. Replace the two with some sleek over-the-knee boots and a statement trench coat, it will seamlessly transition into an evening dinner.

Although thigh-high and over-the-knee boots ruled for a few seasons, the knee-high boot is firmly back in favour with the fashion set, which is great news for all as they are far easier to style and much more versatile! Remember that versatility doesn’t have to mean boring. Choose from the classic style to the skinny heel and plenty of colourful incarnations.

Until next time,
